This guide is written for young people who are learning to knit while in the hospital, and who want to improve their skills independently, whether still in the hospital (and a Project Knitwell volunteer is not available) or after they’re
discharged. The guide has also been found to be useful for all beginner knitters, regardless of age, who have been recipients of Project Knitwell services, however the focus is on the younger knitter. Knitting is relatively easy to learn but in the beginning it’s easy to make mistakes. When that happens, most beginners feel stuck and stop knitting. This guide will help them get back on track so they can continue to develop their knitting skills, and complete their project.
