Cotton, unique among agricultural crops, provides food and fiber, Cotton is a major natural fiber crop, and also provides an edible oil and seed by-products for livestock food. However, most of the research on cotton and the treatment it receives in the world are limited to its recognition as a fiber crop. Cottonseed accounts for two-thirds of the weight of harvest, but all-out efforts are made to improve primarily the fiber produced.
