Being a tropical and subtropical crop, citrus can be grown in a belt between 40 °N and 40 °S, except at high elevations. Their productive life starts on the fourth year, and peak productivity takes place when the trees are 8-15 years old, average yields under these conditions are 15-25 t/ha.
